Confirmation

“Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.”

Confirmation is the second of the three Sacraments of Initiation. It strengthens and deepens the grace received at Baptism, marking a mature commitment to Christ and His Church.

What Confirmation Means:

• Completion of the baptismal journey
• A sacrament of Christian maturity and empowerment
• The Holy Spirit strengthens us to live our faith and continue Christ’s mission
• Ritual includes the laying on of hands and anointing with Chrism

Who Can Receive Confirmation?

• Children 9 years and older
• Adult converts during the final stage of the RCIA process

Choosing a Confirmation Saint:

Your Confirmation name is an opportunity to choose a patron saint as a guide and spiritual companion.

Ways to choose your saint:

• Look up the saint whose feast day is on your birthday
• Find a patron saint who reflects your interests
• Choose a saint whose life inspires who you want to be
• Talk with family or friends
• Pray for guidance from your chosen saint
